Day Two

went a lot better than yesterday. I stayed under 1200 calories despite the fact that the cookies got a hold of me at the end of the day. I walk up late, so I just went straight to lunch. I had a turkey and ham sandwich from subway... and a bean and chicken quesadilla for dinner. Just a few minutes ago I ate too many cookies.

I did make it out for a run today. I want to clarify that I use the term "run" very loosely. What I really mean is walking and slowly jogging, but run sounds better so imma go with it. I didn't start the couch to 5k today because I wanted a little warm up day.

I decided I am going to find some kind of like good work out for beginners app and follow that too... I'll talk about that more tomorrow when I actually know what I'm doing.

Lastly I know I said I was going to update my weight and what not, but I don't know where our scale is, so hopefully I'll be able to do it tomorrow.

Day one

was.... a complete failure. In retrospect it was probably a bad idea to start this on the day I was moving out of my dorm. Instead of listing all the ways I failed I'm going to go ahead and talk about my goals for this break.

I'm not going to fixate too much on what I'm eating. I'm going to track my calories with an app. I'm trying to stay within 1200 calories a day, and trying to be mindful of what I'm eating, but if I want a piece of chocolate cake imma eat a piece of chocolate cake. I am going to drink 3 liters of water every day.

I'm also going to run 6 days a week. I'm going to follow a couch to 5k app which I tried once last summer, but quit about half way through. The app is an 8 week program but I'll probably finish it faster because it's designed for someone running 3 days a week. I'm sure that I will have to repeat some days though, so it will take me more than four weeks. We'll see where I am at the end of break.

I might do some kind of strength training exercise too. I'm not really sure though... I'll only do it if I find a good app :p.

Also Adira ( did this nifty thing where she logged her weight and what she ate and how much she exercised. I'll start doing that everyday too. Except my weight I'll only update that once a week.

What's this?

For a while now I've wanted to do that whole being healthier thing. You know, eating better, working out regularly... The normal stuff. I struggle with finding the motivation to do this though, so this blog is supposed to help with that by keeping me honest. The goal is to work out every day this winter break and be more conscious of the food I'm eating. My last final is on December 16th, so I'll start updating this blog on the 17th. My friends Adira ( and Kenzi ( have similar blogs.
